The insertion of a cafe bar inside the new Oldham Art Gallery inspired Arca to create a space that changed during the course of an evening. In the centre, an island bar unit revolved imperceptibly slowly – once every two hours. Because of its asymmetric plan form, this led to an altered perspective of the space on successive visits, or even in the course of an evening.
