Brunswick Health Centre

The design for the Brunswick PCT Centre was prepared for a developer bid for the Manchester and Salford LIFT project.

This was a PPP-funded scheme for around 10 new primary care centres, which were to be ‘one-stop shops’ for treatment and diagnosis, and occasionally minor operations.

Arca’s proposal created a new spine across the site in Ardwick, connecting the main treatment spaces to the administration block.

The main building was expressed as a ‘barn’ – a simple extrusion which enveloped the full range of facilities under one protective roof, clad in timber and metal
